Zeron snarled in frustration as he slammed one of the foxes against a tree. He'd offered them money in exchange for information and got lies. Then when he went to get his money back on of them tried to stab him. His head lay a few feet away. One had been smart enough to run away. The last had tried but was slower and still had his money. Slamming the fox against the tree again he grabbed his money back from the pouch in its hand and slung him into the river, watching him thrash until he vanished downstream. He pulled out a list he'd marked on a piece of parchment with all the vermin in the area he'd remembered. Pulling the feather out of his hat he licked the tip and dipped it in one of his pouches containing ink. He put a X over the foxes. "Foxes, check. On to Ragnor and his band." He turned to go and could have sworn he heard laughter in the distance. He wondered if Jekker and Rakko had seen the fox go by. "Hmm. I didn't think the current was that fast. And if its not the thrashing fox I wonder why their laughing..." He shrugged it off and went on his way.
