"What are you doing?"
“Huggin’ ye.” Grath smirked in amusement at the ferret's bemusement. Sleet raged and ran at Ephriam, who’d recovered his spear. Grath gritted her teeth, narrowing her eyes once again as she watched the two fight. There didn’t seem to be anything to stop them, unless she were to hit them again, which would prove no purpose. “Well if ye two determined be to destroy each ot’er because ye do not like the look of each ot’er, ye be goin’ right ahead at it.” Shaking her head, the sea otter turned and returned back the way she came for her things. “Ye can come wit’, Otter Tirael.” She said without turning.

"Tirael!" She hissed, this time a bit more desperately, her balance thrown sideways as she stuck him but he held on. She whirled herself back around, the otter still clinging to her, it seemed harder than before. "Tirael, you are going to get me killed."
Admittedly Sleet was surprised she was not kabobed on the end of a javelin yet, Ephriam had apparently giving her a moment to get her standing back... either that or he was just as surprised by the clinging healer as she was. The disgusted reaction of the other otter was somewhat of a relief, at lease she would not jump in... or cling on.
Still nothing stopped Sleet, Tirael could hold onto her until she died and it wouldn't make a difference in her actions. She hauled herself forward, advancing as ridiculously as it seemed, towards Ephriam and his Javelin.

“Ye can come wit’, Otter Tirael.”
Still rather dazed by the blow from Sleet, the healer could only blink hard and respond with a blank "...uhh?" As his mind gradually fell back together, he tried to focus on what was going on. He was almost sort-of there.
"Tirael, you are going to get me killed."
Regaining awareness, Tirael tried to plant his feet and steady himself. Instead, he stuck his footpaw in the way of Sleet's leg, and they both fell heavily to the forest floor. "Ow..." he groaned, finally letting go of her and sitting up. Finally, he realized what had been going on, and he got a tad angry.
Well, more than just a tad.
"Me? I'm gonna get you killed?" Getting up, he glared at her and said, "Fine. Get yourself killed, I'm through trying to help you if you're just going to be an idiot!" Walking over to Grath, he just shook his head and sighed, touching a paw to his forehead. His expression turning to confusion, he held it up at eye level and examined it. "...why am I bleeding?"

Ephriam kept a wary eye on Sleet as the confusion that was caused by Tirael caused his opponent to fall. He wondered if the fight was over but he kept himself ready knowing it probably wasn't.
“Well if ye two determined be to destroy each ot’er because ye do not like the look of each ot’er, ye be goin’ right ahead at it.”
"Hey it's not my fault!" growled Ephriam. "She attacked me! I was just being careful of who I befriend."
He stood a bit at ease as Tirael and Sleet rolled around on the ground. He was slightly amazed when Sleet rose though, with the clinging otter on her back. The dazed otter soon dropped off and it looked sa if he was leaving with Grath. Ephriam turned his attention back to Sleet who was slowly advancing.

"Fine. Get yourself killed, I'm through trying to help you if you're just going to be an idiot!"
The words caught her as she staggered to regain balance, blood had seeped through the bandage on her leg where the wound had reopened from all her movement and she felt the torn muscle giving way against her weight. She stumbled unsteadily, trying to look at both Tirael and Ephriam.
"Hey it's not my fault!" growled Ephriam. "She attacked me! I was just being careful of who I befriend."
"Being careful?!" She snarled, slouched over with all her weight on the uninjured leg, "how? By running through every beast you think is vermin? By provoking me and seeing if I roll over for you so you think I have a a bit of good in me?" Her voice wavered, unsteady like her stance. "you could have left me alone, you didn't have to point a javelin in my face!"
Glossed dark eyes flicked from Ephriam to Tirael, her viciousness gone and replaced with defensive aggression, almost desperation. She wasn't sure what to do next... one short sword was still held steadily over her chest, the other hung limply with her arm where it had been trapped by Tirael.

"...why am I bleeding?"
“Because, Otter Tirael, your friend ‘it ye wit’ ‘er elbow.” Grath said, emerging from the relative dark of the trees to gather her left belongings. She packed things away, slinging her rucksack on her shoulder easily despite its bulkiness. She looked back at the path she had forged earlier. “I suppose we should be goin’ back t’check on ‘em.” She said with a sigh. She led the way back.
"Hey it's not my fault!" growled Ephriam. "She attacked me! I was just being careful of who I befriend."
“She attacked ye? I think not, my impulsive friend.” Grath interrupted the two once again. “Ye be the one who was poking at ‘er and provokin’ ‘er. Ye did not even be giving her chance.”

“Because, Otter Tirael, your friend ‘it ye wit’ ‘er elbow.”
Still a little weird from the elbowing, Tirael looked at the blood in slight fascination. "Uh. That makes sense, I guess..." Dropping his paw, he sighed and looked down. "She doesn't really act like a friend. I'm pretty sure she doesn't feel like being one, either..." Giving Grath an apologetic look, he said, "Sorry. You don't need to listen to me complain." Holding out his clean paw, he said, "I'm Tirael."
“I suppose we should be goin’ back t’check on ‘em.”
Looking back uncertainly, he said, "I guess..." When they got back, the two were still combat-ready. Right where I left you, he thought as he looked at Sleet. Not caring about the argument taking place, he simply shot Sleet a very unhappy look before hanging his head and avoiding eye contact with anyone. He'd given up on trying to help where it wasn't wanted.

"Being careful?!" "how? By running through every beast you think is vermin? By provoking me and seeing if I roll over for you so you think I have a a bit of good in me?"
Ephriam gritted his teeth, frustration rising in him. "Well forgive me but last time I checked every vermin ever has always been one thing, BAD. The only thing they do is oppose good beasts. I've never met one who wouldn't claim to be able to outbeat everyone in being deciteful, evil and dishonest!"
Ephraim relaxed his stance a bit. The ferret limped pitifully and Ephriam hoped she wasn't just trying to get out of a fight. He had seen her spirit and doubted it, but he wouldn't put anything at all past a vermin.

"Well forgive me but last time I checked every vermin ever has always been one thing, BAD. The only thing they do is oppose good beasts. I've never met one who wouldn't claim to be able to outbeat everyone in being deciteful, evil and dishonest!"
Sleet seemed to have backtracked. She wasn't use to this much speaking while in a fight, she would have proffered it if the otter had just tried to run her threw his his pointy stick. The words tore open the wounds she couldn't help but show when in a situation like this. It was all to easy to kill these sort of beasts for her... it was much more difficult to hear them talk like this.
The anger burning in her chest seemed to have faded, or moved downwards to become a sick feeling in her stomach. Her expression followed a similar transformation, the aggression fell away and was replaced with something that more closely resembled horror.
She wanted to kill Ephriam, that was still very true, but thus far he had been doing more talking than fighting. Sleet couldn't bear listening to him any longer nor could she kill him without having seen him give any sort of good fight back. Her eyes were wide and lost as they moved to look at Tirael, however he apparently would rather be staring at the dirt than at her. Perhaps he felt the same way Ephriam did about her now. She wouldn't be surprised.
Sleet was already in deep, bleeding profusely with the healer she would have counted on had this fight gotten worse for her purposely forgetting she existed she figured she might as well remain as she was. After all, her day had already gone so sour she might as well top it off. She glared at Ephriam but the look lacked intensity, "If I'm so evil why are you standing there? You're a coward. You think you can never be wrong, you think you're righteous? Then where's your action? Trust me otter, I'm more than willing to prove your point and slice your tongue out of your mouth if thats what you'd like so much."
She moved her swords into possession again, "go on, then, you stupid, coward waterdog."

Uncontroled anger surged into Ephriam. She had called him a coward, and that to him was unacceptable. Roaring in fury, he launched his javelin at her with all his might. Years of practice helped him to cast truly depsite the mist of anger that shaded his sight. Then drawing his dirk, he lunged without caution, at Sleet. His teeth where bared and a growl still rumbled in his throat.
(Blah, shortness...)

(I know its not really my/terg's turn... but I guess all of this would just happen in a split second anyway so why not.)
Sleet recoiled as a growl rose from the otter, partially surprised that she'd finally been able to get the desired reaction. Still, she didn't have much time to think about it considering the javelin about to be speared through her chest. She rose both short swords and slammed one down on top of the javelin as soon as it was close hit it sideways with the other.
Still the angle at which he'd thrown it along with the impressive strength behind made it impossible to stop all together. It manage to tear along her upper leg, leaving a sizable scratch beneath her torn trousers.
She lowered herself, facing back to Ephriam as he lunged towards her. She did much the same, and made an attempt to get under his arms to avoid the dirk and throw his sideways while striking towards him with one blade... she hoped she could manage the strength to get through his armor.

(Yah, hope yout guys don't mind...)
Ephriam grunted as SLeet body slammed into his knocking him sideways. Fortunatly this also knocked him mostly out of the way of her sword strike. HIs dirk flashed up in silver arc and met the oncoming short swords blow. The contact sent shockwaves ringing through his body as he fell to the ground. He tucked himslef into a tight ball and rolled away as he hit the ground. He eyed his javelin which was now behind Sleet and would be hard to get.
HE began to circle Sleet slowly trying to get his back to his javelin so he could grab it quickly, and perhaps launch it again. As soon as he thought this he dismissed the plan. HE couldn't stand to loose his javelin again, since he was only armed with a dirk besides. HIs long bow had been dropped on the loamy ground somwhere...

Sleet hissed and launched herself back as her blade met his his. Frustrated she let a quick glance flick down to her newest injury, it didn't hurt much... but Sleet knew that to be a problem on its own. She couldn't afford another wound like these that she already had acquired, blood loss was already high on her list of concerns.
As quickly as she looked back at Ephriam she knew what he was doing. As if she'd let him just walk around her and retrieve his advantage. Sleet barred her fangs and bolted back towards Ephriam before he could get around her, now that it was her turn to lead the attack she could use the twin swords in the way they worked best.
Sleet's weapons were ideal for forcing her opponents into making less than savory choices. She would use this key to them to her advantage any chance she got. In this example it was perfect. The ferret brought both blades up to her chest and lowered her shoulders down a bit as she moved forwards.
He would deserve this, she told herself, this was a survival fight. She thought fleetingly of Tirael, surprisingly she found herself worried for half a second of what he would think. But Tirael did not understand, none of them could. Their lives were perfect, justified, good. Besides, Tirael didn't care... Chaos raged in her mind as she took the last step to find herself within range.
Swiftly she spread her arms out, one sword sweeping towards the otters chest and the other towards his abdomen. This move forced a block... but only from one of the two weapons. Sleet followed through with the move, head tucked down, eyes wide and watching with a daunting angry interest.

As Ephriam and Sleet battled, Tirael tried even harder to avoid seeing what was happening. Of course, not looking directly at the two was hardly effective; aside from peripheral vision, he could still hear them, and though he wasn't sure, at one point he thought he felt a fleck of blood hit him. After a few moments, he couldn't take it anymore. He turned and ran, trying to block out the painful thoughts running through him. To his dismay and sadness, he almost felt hatred for the two for hurting him like this, especially Sleet. For some reason, he'd gotten the idea that she cared about him, at least a little.
Well, apparently, he was way off.
After about a minute, Tirael slowed, stopped, and sat against an old oak. Pulling his knees to his chin, he shrank against the tree, closed his eyes, and tried to calm himself. However, he soon noticed a tear had escaped from one of his eyes. Wiping it away ashamedly, he pulled his cloak tightly about himself and buried his face in his fur, glad that he was alone. Nobody could hurt him for now.

Ephriam leaped back from the blow, but not quickly enough. His dirk was already holding back the lower sword that was trying to slash at his abdomen but his chest was horribly exposed. He his fur part and skin slice neatly under Sleet's sword. Hot sticky blood dripped into his fur, from the wound. He gasped, and glanced at the wound. It was a clean cut and he despretly hoped that Sleet hadn't poisned her blades, though it didn't look or feel like it.
Ephriam stumbled back out of reach of Sleet and slapped a paw to the wound. Blood leaked from between his fingers and he knew he was going to be weekend considerably by blood loss. But then again so would Sleet.
On a sudden impulse Ephriam hurled his dirk like a throwing knife, at Sleet face and dove for his javelin. He was really running out of options.
