"Ya' got one thing wrong with that statement matey...aye....I'm tha' Skipper...but as fer killin'...that 'as yet to be seen...It will be your choice...not mine..."
Yeah right, Arturo thought. The new otter seemed plenty inclined to start killing, whether or not the Mossflower otters approved. However intolerant the rebels might be, they had nothing on him. Maybe Camp Moss wasn't necessarily off-limits...no, they could throw rose petals everywhere he walked and it would still be awkward. Ferrets were ferrets in their opinion.
...in his opinion.
As the Mossflower Skipper got reeaalll close to the other Skipper, Arturo peered between two of the squirrels at them. This was getting interesting. He just hoped it wouldn't get violent; it wouldn't go well for him, or for Sleet. He even felt a faint concern for the rebels. Carwyn, however, could easily take care of herself, he figured.

“That’s what ye think, matey. But ‘ere in Mossflower there be only one Skipper, and ye ain’t it.”“Ye came bargin’ in ‘ere uninvited, and so far’s I’m concerned, I can kick ye outta my territory. ’Tis war and we do not take kindly to intruders.” This was true. Irvine wasn't the Skipper when it came to the land. But he still had a job to whether he was at Sea or not. "I assume thats yerself then...My apologies..." he said tilting his head slightly for an irritated apology. He didn't mind apologizing. But the way he threatened to kick out one of his own kind, and talk down to him really irritated him... "If I 'ad known The Skipper of Mossflower was in the area I would not had jumped so quickly to do another beast job..." He would get over it...
“Miss Pike there has a dibbun in paw and a mace in the other. D’ye really want to mess with a blood’rathed badger?”
The Skipper of the sea smirked as did the rest of the otters behind him. "No....It wouldn't be a fair fight...fer her...." He said turning around toward his crew he said a few words to them and they put away their weapons. he walked back and face the Skipper. "Skipper of tha' Sea..." he said holding out a paw.

Sleet's demeanor slowly seemed to become less hostile. The danger of this beast and his crew seemed to have passed as quickly as it had come... not to mention he was nearly as overconfident as she and equally insulting with her words so as much as she already disliked him it was impossible for her to see the similarity between them. She would try not to let the outburst impede on her partially good day.
Looked sideways at Tirael, partially wishing he could read her mind and understand how badly she wanted to get out of this situation and go back her her solitude. But of course he wouldn't... She let out a low sigh, her patience ran thin in groups of beasts. All of their calm authoritative talk, she knew how quickly they could become thoughtless and unreasonable. The facade, as she saw it, only further rubbed on her nerves.
She kept her mouth shut, worried about what might come out if she opened it.
Caion's eyes bulged as the confrontation progressed, but it seemed to dissolve with the tension among the rest of them. He did not like this new otter, namely for his corsair-like appearance. Unnerved, the little badger suddenly didn't mind being held so much.

"My mistake, mate...must 'ave just been you…”
Carwyn snarled, gripping her mace hard, making the tendons of her forarm tense and stand out. “Would you care to repeat that, laddie?” She started to enquire, stepping forward before something stopped her. The rigid posture of the babe in her arms drew her attentions, and her face softened as she drew him gently closer. “Do not worry, young’un. They won’t harm you. I’ll protect you, though I doubt,” she glared at the otters, “they want to hurt you.”
She lowered her mace, holding it less tightly, focusing more on Caion as she fought down the bloodwrath as it came to the surface. It wouldn’t do to go slaughtering just as she had denied these otters the doing of.
"No....It wouldn't be a fair fight...fer her...." He said turning around toward his crew he said a few words to them and they put away their weapons. he walked back and face the Skipper. "Skipper of tha' Sea..."
Carwyn eyed the otters suspiciously, but nevertheless returned her mace to its loop on her shoulder harness. Now with two paws free, she transferred Caion to her other arm and tapped the chestnut with a claw. “Can’t eat it like that, laddie.”

"I assume thats yerself then...My apologies... If I 'ad known The Skipper of Mossflower was in the area I would not had jumped so quickly to do another beast job..."
Skipper leaned back, paws folded as he considered the otter in front of him. Finally he nodded, taking a step back. The squirrels lowered their weapons. “Ye shouldn’t be jumping into gatherin’s like an addle-pated frog and threatening to kill, either.” He pointed out. This time Skipper did sigh, holding out a paw. “Skipper o’ Mossflower Otters, mate. Sorry, but when beasts threaten the safety of those under my protection I get a might touchy.” A black squirrel in the group rolled her eyes and was heard to mumble something to the effect of “extremely touchy and very irritable.”
“Welcome to Mossflower.” Skipper said, shaking the paw of the SoSO.

The skipper of the sea rolled his eyes. "As I just said matey..." he said, extremely irritated, but holding his emotions back as best he could, as not to stir up anything else. "...If I had known you were here...I would not have acted....as if you weren't...." he said pursing his lips.
“Welcome to Mossflower.”
"Aye...I can only hope to return the Welcome..." he said turning around towards his crew. An otter walked up to him. An average sized one, A mix of river and sea otter by the looks of it. "Skip, Are we really gonna trust these..." the otter started, looking around the Skippers shoulder, "Dirt paws...we don't even know if..."The skipper cut him short. "Relax mate! Say hello! We're among friends here! Right?!?!" he said grabbing the otter by the collar with a huge grin and hauling him directly in front of him facing the Land Skipper. The otter gulped and gave a nervous grin. "Hi..."

“Would you care to repeat that, laddie?”
Arturo's interest was piqued as Carwyn took a bit of an aggressive stance. However, he was disappointed a moment later as she became preoccupied Caion. He realized wasn't acting normally; usually, fights were something not wanted, only used as needed. But this otter was on his bad side now, and it didn't seem like he was changing anytime soon.
He scrutinized the more...withdrawn otter as he conversed with the foreign Skipper. He wondered how different the leader was from his followers; maybe the others were more respectable. ________________________________________
"Hi..."
Tirael felt a bit akin to this other otter; getting to know new creatures didn't really come easily to him, either. Stepping out from behind his father, he gave a genial smile and returned the greeting. "Hi."

Caion blinked and looked at Carwyn as she addressed him. "Oh.." He glanced down at the chestnut in his paws and then over at The Skipper of the Sea Otters. He quickly shoved the small morsel into his mouth, still eying the sea otter suspiciously.
How quickly the sea otter's mood seemed to have switched made Sleet feel edgy. She didn't like beasts like that, going from happy to angry suddenly was understandable... but the other way around seemed a bit odd. Her guard did not go down. "Lovely we've all gotten to meet one another," she growled with her eyes on the back of Tirael. She felt horribly out of place, something she wasn't use to and wasn't enjoying.

"...If I had known you were here...I would not have acted....as if you weren't...." Skipper shook his head, obviously this Skipper had just skated over his point and took up his stance that anything not good-looking ought to be killed... even in company of a badger, some otters and a whole squad of squirrels.
"Anyway." Skipper dusted his paws and turned towards Sleet. "Ye wished to speak to me, did you not?"
