Trying to organize the frantic, panicking mass of refugees was proving to be rather difficult. What with the constant patter of rain, the splatters of footpaws into mud, and the rising chatter, Brush could barely even get anybeast to hear his voice, much less get control over anything. He needed help; fortunately, Enon was relatively even-minded.
Or, at least she was.
"Enon, we need to--Enon?" Looking around, Brush searched confusedly for his friend. "Enon!" He called when he saw her, unable to keep concern out of his voice. He ran to her, kneeling in the mud and placing his paws on her shoulders. "E, what's the matter?" he said softly but firmly. As much as he was worried for her, they couldn't stay here.

Heaviness descended on her shoulders, but it was a long time before time sped back into its normal tracks and she looked at Brush instead of through him.
"E, what's the matter?"
She blinked a few times, slowly the brown eyes of her concerned friend came into focus, and her ears registered his voice. What was the matter? Nothing was the matter... only only, the water it was rising and pulling and drawing and sucking and it was higher and over her head and her tail was drowning her and the water.....
"I don't like water." She said plaintively, a desperateness in her eyes.

This was strange. In all the time they'd spent together, Brush had never seen Enon more than slightly ruffled, not to mention completely shaken. The most emotion he'd seen from her was when Eastpaw...well, you know.
"I don't like water."
"Okay, okay," Brush breathed quietly. He wasn't exactly experienced with this sort of situation, but he could easily see the fear in her eyes. Water...if she's thinking of drowning... He had to pull her from that water--figuratively, of course. There wasn't any way to get her out of this awful rain.
"Hey. Hey." he said firmly, keeping his paws on her shoulders. "Don't think about it. Focus on me. There's no more water, Enon, you're safe." Staring into her dark eyes, he said softly, "You're safe with me." It wasn't much, but he knew she was strong; with a little help, she would be fine...
