Having rearmed himself with what he deemed a satisfactory arsenal of snowballs, Tirael poked his head ever so slightly out from behind the tree to search for his first new victim. His heart skipped a beat as he saw a fox- yes, a fox- right near Danol and Brooke! He was lost for words until the newcomer began helping Danol up. A twinkle of mischievous joy flared up in his eye as he picked out his best projectile from the pile and lined up his throw. As he flung the snowball, he yelled "Welcome to the losing team!" to the fox his snowball was headed for.

Fern paused in the action of throwing a snowball, staring opened mouthed at Jakk. Her heart rate sped up and she flet a moment of fear, but he proclaimed himself a goodbeast and the others seemed to accept him quickly.
Fern told herself to calm down, not everyone was a badbeast who was of the so-called 'vermin' species. She lobbed a snowball at Tirael, who was concentrated on throwing a snowball at the fox.

"But, if you die, yes I will bring flowers to your funeral."
Heartened at this, Danol immediately let his charade drop. A foolish grin plastered itself across his features as she thwapped him upside his head.
"Now, get up, we have a battle to win."
Clearing his throat, but still lying on the frozen ground, he made an elegant paw as he adopted what he believed to be a noble tone. "As y'wish, marm. I'll fight past my injuries 'till m'las-"
He was taken aback by the sudden appearance of the fox, who, while not particularly frightening, was certainly startling. And loud. Unlike his peers, Danol, having never experienced any interaction with these creatures that other call 'vermin', nor completely believing the words of others that proclaimed that they were all evil, did not hold any fear of the fox. The fellow seemed friendly enough, though he would do well to introduce himself slower in a less startling way.
Still thrown off his mental balance slightly, Danol accepted the offered paw and rose to his feet. As soon as this action was completed, he recalled the inadvisability of standing up in a snowball fight. No sooner was this thought completed than a snowball that had been intended for the fox splattered across Danol's back. His balance hadn't quite been set, and this addition to his wavering momentum caused him to pitch forward. Falling, he let go of the Jakk's paw in favor of the fox's shoulder, intending to bring the creature down behind their crumbling shelter.

Tirael watched as his snowball sailed toward Jakk...and hit Danol. He took it in his stride; at least he had his someone. As he threw another snowball toward the fox, a snowball hit him in the side of the head. Clapping a paw to the impact zone, he mentally calculated the source. Coming from that angle, it could be none other than-
Fern!?
Trying to sound serious, he clutched a paw to his heart and said, "How could you bear to betray a friend? I thought you were more than that, Fern..." He went on as melodramatically as he could while his free paw reached eeveeer so slooooowly for a snowball...then whipped up and threw it at Fern. After all, it was the only punishment befitting a traitor.

"How could you bear to betray a friend? I thought you were more than that, Fern..."
Fern giggled as she packed snowballs, keeping her eyes firmly on her work, most of the time. She glanced up from under her eyelashes at Tirael, who was melodramatically acting the wounded and betrayed.
Thud/Splat.
It rocked Fern backwards a few inches, the large snowball that Tirael had thrown and which had come in contact with her shoulder. Gathering two of her largest snowballs, she mock-grimaced at Tirael and stood, advancing a few feet to tackle her friend with the intent to stuff them down his shirt.
“Take that!”

Tirael laughed in satisfaction as Fern was knocked back a few steps by his surprise attack. However, that laughter was cut short as she tackled him.
“Take that!”
There are few things in life quite so unpleasant as having snow stuffed down your shirt, something Tirael learned the hard way at that moment. A combination of slush sliding down his body and being tackled forced an "Augh!" to come from his mouth, followed by a softer "Oof!" as he hit the ground. Once he regained his wits, he scrabbled to remove the unwelcome frozen mass from his fur, laughing the whole while. "You're such a cheater, Fern," he said, though his tone clearly implied he found it just as funny as she did. Not that he'd ever found wrong in anything she'd done.
Looking up, he saw her face. She was smiling, and there was a glint in her eyes. The sight made him forget for a moment he was still on his back in freezing wet snow. However, he noticed it when the cold became a little too cold to bear. Still smiling, he said, "Uhh, Fern...y' think you could, y'know, let me up now?

“Gotcha!” Fern grinned in triumph, pinning Tirael to the snowy ground.
"Uhh, Fern...y' think you could, y'know, let me up now?”
“Uh, yeah, sure!” Fern stood hastily, then stooped and offered Tirael a paw up. She looked around, the dibbuns seemed to be tiring, and the sun was rising in the sky. “Hey guys, I think the dibbuns need breakfast.”
She threw a last snowball and started gathering up dibbuns. Some protested, but most were tired and hungry.

“Uh, yeah, sure!”
Tirael took her paw and got up, brushing snow off of himself and Fern. Giving a last, quiet laugh, he looked down nervously. It didn't occur to him that she had acted a bit hasty; that might lead to the thought she was as nervous as he was. He looked up as she said a little more loudly, “Hey guys, I think the dibbuns need breakfast.” Looking around at the now-wearied Dibbuns, he had to agree. "Alright, come on everyone, we can come back out later if you want." He felt sorry for the Dibbuns, having to live underground instead of in the abbey he knew would offer them light and fresh air; it was the kind of life they deserved, and he hoped desperately they would get it someday. He thought of this while absentmindedly shepherding them into the Camp. Coming closer to Fern at one point, he said simply, "Good call."

Brooke looked around finally considering the Dibbuns.
"Yea, we probably should bring them in, then we can come back out...!" Then grabbing a random dibbun with one paw, she linked arms with Dan and took off skipping towards camp.
Looking back over her shoulder she yelled, "C'mon everyone, keep up!"
Violet rolled her eyes as Brooke grabbed Dan and took off. Grabbing the two nearest Dibbuns, she followed suit.
"You won't have us beat for long!" She cried.
