"And there was even a wonderful tapestry, of Martin the Warrior. Do you know who he is?"
He was a mouse. She knew it without being told but she was not completely sure how. Something shifted uncomfortably in her gut. She turned quickly around to see if there were any guards about then looked back to the others to see that the conversation had moved on without her. She listened to Tampa, only partly paying attention while she tried to remember why that sounded so familiar.
“My uncle said he was a guardian for all Redwall, a guiding spirit. The Champion of Redwall always wielded his sword.”
Her head flooded with visions of her dream, the mouse, his confusing words, his sword and...her.
Times will be righted and slaves will be freed, When Sokana Warriormaid holds my sword. Heed the chuckling Tide and scheming River. My sword lies in three willows, Fight and flight will find you safe
She hung her head, her eyes wide staring blankly at the floor as her placed a paw to the side of her face, touching the claw mark scars gently to remind herself she wasn't still dreaming. The mouses words repeated in her head, it was all she could hear, she tried to cover in other thoughts, figure out what to do or where to go from there but she felt as if nothing else could override those words. it was as if they were the singularly most important thing circulating in her head. Perhaps it was.
But what was she suppose to say to them, 'oh I know all about that mouse. He popped up in my dream pronounced me a warrior and said a little poem. Quite lovely'? And as far a a guiding spirit goes he hadn't done a very good job. She was more confused now about her purpose then she had ever been. Not to mention she figured a guardian of Redwall appearing to a creature such as herself would not only sound strange but perhaps impossible. Lost for words and completely without an explanation she kept her mouth clenched uncomfortably shut. However her composure had completely fallen apart and she was clearly uneasy.

"Tell them, young one." Martin said, appearing to Soko once again. "I told you I would see you again." the mouse said at her surprise. "You know the riddle."
/ Exit Martin

"Yes I know it." She muttered. It was only after she spoke that she remembered that this mouse was some strange hallucination no one else had seen and she had just dug herself deeper down the crazy hole.
She exhaled deeply and sat back up, her eyes passed from River to Griff and then to Tampa. She was about to ruin what small hospitality she had managed to get from them. "Martin the Warrior." She repeated, "I had a dream that he was in... He told me something. It was like a riddle, about the Slaves and his sword..." She didn't mention the part about herself yet. She would see their reactions and then she knew... because the possibly imaginary mouse wanted her to, she would tell them the riddle he had told her.

"Soko, are you OK?" She looked as if she were having an internal battle.
"Yes I know it." she muttered. After Griff started talking about this Martin.
"Soko, what are you talking about?"

"Yes. he was the founder of this abbey, along with Abbess Germaine and several others. He was the champion, and it was said his blade was made from a fallen star." Griff said.
He thought of the two days he was at the abbey, and all the joy he had, and how welcoming everybeast was. Of course, those fun times were over for now. Now Griff spent nights gatering weapons, and thinking of plans to overthrow the guards.
Then his attention turned to River attending to Soko. "Is something wrong?" He asked, quite conscerned actually.

She immediately felt bad for directing all their attention towards herself. She raised her head to look at River and Griff, "No nothings wrong, I'm sorry. I'm just... confused." She must not be making much sense, the poor otters and mouse must be completely lost in reaction to her strange behavior. She inhaled and straightened up, there was nothing to do but try to explain herself.
"That mouse, Martin the Warrior..." She said, her voice low and quiet, "he was in my dream. He told me about how the Abbey was. I just remembered it when Tampa talked about it... He told me something, it was like a riddle but..." She stared around at the others and an uneasy smile broke on her face, "Just a dream, right?" She didn't even believe that, honestly. But she was hardly aware that the Guardian was known to appear to creatures at times of crisis, nor was she even sure she was still holding onto her sanity.

"Yes I know it."
“Soka?” Tampa asked, the sable did not look like she felt all that well all of a sudden.
"Martin the Warrior." She repeated, "I had a dream that he was in... He told me something. It was like a riddle, about the Slaves and his sword..."
“He spoke to you?” Tampa said, starting to chuckle. “Soka, that’s wonderful!” She said quickly, to clarify why she was laughing to her new friend. “Martin taking an interest again, after all these years.”
"No nothings wrong, I'm sorry. I'm just... confused. That mouse, Martin the Warrior..." She said, her voice low and quiet, "he was in my dream. He told me about how the Abbey was. I just remembered it when Tampa talked about it... He told me something, it was like a riddle but..." She stared around at the others and an uneasy smile broke on her face, "Just a dream, right?"
Tampa turned to Griff for the answer to that one, the mouse had the most experience of any of the group. “What riddle?” She asked.

"Exactly." came River's reply. "Now, we should get down to business, we need to start this rebellion planning, has anyone heard from Camp?"

Griff suddenly took an interest in the sable. Martin talked to her, and he allowed a smile to crease across his features. "Looks to me like Martin has a plan in mind."
Then he leaned forward in his chair so he was staring at Sokano, "Now... This riddle... Do you know it, or do you need hep solving it?" He asked, his curiosity piqued.
Just a dream, right?
Griff's eyes widened at her statement, but then he quickly closed them as to not offend the sable, for she probably hadnt learned about Martin and the importance of his dreams. "Not right, my dear." He said, with still closed eyes. "Martin appears when he has something of importance, like a warning... or a plan." A grin appeared on his lips, and his eyes opened, and he reached out and placed a paw on Soko's shoulder, "Martin must see something in you, Soko. For him to appear to you in a dream is a great honor. It seems like he wants you to take up his sword and lead the rebllion."
"Now, we should get down to business, we need to start this rebellion planning, has anyone heard from Camp?"
"I have many eyes and ears around here." He said calmly and slowly. "And I have heard that there is a certain fox, goes by Jakk. He seems fed up with N'Tashi, and I think he is plotting with others to overthrow this evil maniac."

Well those were some conflicting messages. While both Tampa and Griff seemed to think it was important, River had waved it off just as Soko had herself. The mouse seemed to understand her predicament the most, his words even slightly excited her. "So... so you mean thats suppose to happen? The riddle... I think I understand it. He said that the sword was in Three willows... that part I'm not sure about..." Her voice trailed off and she listened to Griff finish.
She scowled as he mentioned the Fox, "plenty of beasts are fed up with N'tashi. Plenty of them want to kill him, but once he's dead they will just take his place as he did with his predecessor. As long as N'tashi is the leader we at least know who and what we are up against... if he is overthrown then we might have a chance... right at the transition period, but I don't think we can trust that things will get better simply because N'Tashi is gone."

"Martin must see something in you, Soko. For him to appear to you in a dream is a great honor. It seems like he wants you to take up his sword and lead the rebellion."
“A great honor.” Tampa echoed, in awe. A champion for Redwall?
"Now, we should get down to business, we need to start this rebellion planning, has anyone heard from Camp?"
“I did here from Skipp by Brush… He left a note in the usual spot. We’re to get as many slaves out as possible and not to try and fight a battle.”
Tampa listened as Griff spoke, nodding slightly. “We’ve met him. He gave me an extra dagger. I’ve put it in the stockpile.” She looked at River, gauging his reaction. “I’m not sure if we should trust him.”
"So... so you mean thats suppose to happen? The riddle... I think I understand it. He said that the sword was in Three willows... that part I'm not sure about..." Her voice trailed off and she listened to Griff finish.
“Three willows? Are you sure?” Tampa said, getting excited again. That meant the sword was in Camp Moss!

“We’ve met him. He gave me an extra dagger. I’ve put it in the stockpile. I’m not sure if we should trust him.”
River knew that she was scared to bring it up, he took a deep breath to control his anger, he answered.
"I don't know either, but if he proves worthy I think we should take it as we will need as much help as we can get."
"So... so you mean thats suppose to happen? The riddle... I think I understand it. He said that the sword was in Three willows... that part I'm not sure about..."
Three willows, why did that sound familiar... Camp Moss! There were three willows at the entrance! He smiled, well that was one part solved easily. What about the difficulty of getting there, first they had to get out of this hole.
"Wait, did you say three willows? If you did I know where it is!" he leaned in to whisper, "Camp Moss, we can get to it once we escape!"

Griff massaged his temples as he listened to everything being spoken. Three Willows... He didn't know that part, but then River breathed the answer. He didn't speak up, for he wasn't sure if that was right or not, though the expression on his face probably meant he was right. Griff looked up at all around him, and changed his expression to... expressionless...
"River, are you sure?" He asked in a somewhat serious tone. It wasn't normally like this to act tense, but he's been here forever, and he was serious when it came to leaving this dreaded place. Griff looked from Soko, to River, then to Tampa, resting his gaze on the female otter in front of him.
"You're realted to the Skipper, right? If so, then you should know the true answer. Is Camp Moss right?" Griff turnd to River and gave an apologetic look, "Sorry, River. I just want to make sure, so everyone can get out safely after learning the truth about everything, and everything there is to know." He looked down at his feet, and continued, "I may be confusing to you, but... I've seen things no one should ever have to dream about. I..." He trailed off continuing no more.
