So we all know the basic layout of the plot. What we need to do now is flesh it out a little. What happens next? What direction will things take? How will our characters affect things in Mossflower?
One thing I know I had in mind was a battle in which some of the woodlanders die. Anybody got ideas or thoughts?

Hm...well there could be a struggle against the Vermin horde that is holding Redwall captive. Like they could've gone out to get more slaves or something and they messed with the wrong woodlanders. -shrugs- I don't know.
I know my warrior in training Tor is on the outside and he'd most likely take part in the battle despite his Mentor's orders. It could result in him getting injured and taken prisoner? Sorry, I'm not really good at making plots.

Well, the horde occupying Redwall wouldn't just attack to take slaves--they need to really consolidate their hold over Mossflower itself, not just within the Abbey. And it would show the refugees that they won't be able to fight back on their own if the resulting skirmishes basically get them thrashed.

So maybe they feel confident in their hold over the abbey now and want to start with Mossflower now. Most of the refugees are at Camp Willow at the moment, if they're not just straight headed the hell outta dodge. Perhaps the horde feels its time to start patrols. Perhaps even they need food of some sort. Not all of Redwall's food comes from within the walls. Maybe they need to know the lay of the land.
