"It depends on the company really, come on. My mentor's this way in a small cave." Tor said as he turned around to lead the other two there.
Tor wouldn't mind the company and there was strength in numbers. A lesson his Mentor had taught him for when the dormouse would be out and on his own for good.
"I was a kid when I meet him and he took me in under his wing. Had to prove to my parents first though that I was suited for it." Tor said in response to Kilo saying that he was a kit when he took up arms.

If anything bad did happen around here, at least she’d be safer with Tor and Kilo. They were both warriors. Unless at least one of them decided to betray this new group of travellers for whatever reason, though as of right now that was nothing KayLee needed to worry about. There was nothing going on or no one else around to sway them. Their intentions seemed good for now, so she would be safe, for now.
The squirrel-maid nodded. “Duly noted, Kilo. Though at this rate, I doubt will be seeing any beast, let alone any otters.” She replied to Kilo then began to follow Tor.

Kilo hefted his glaive and rested it behind his head on both shoulders, draping his paws over the haft and followed Tor. even slouched as he was the fox was quite tall, he doubted that any lone beast would attack the group, it was refreshing to not be constantly on his guard, but without anything more than convenience tying them together, he was still wary of his newfound companions. the silence started to grate on him as they walked. "things seem to work so different here than the north. when i first arrived, a group of otters attacked me for seemingly no reason apart from my species. up north, such things were irrelevant compared to other problems, like food which is here in abundance. should i be cautious around other species simply due to my race do you know?" he might as well learn what he can about the land's customs, as it was likely he'd spend many seasons in Mossflower.

"Well, some woodlanders might be afraid of you, I'm sure my parents would be. But I haven't seen them in so long." Tor answered Kilo's question as he lead the way.
They soon arrived at the cave that the old warrior was taking rest in. Awakening to the sound of paws, the old creature rose to his paws and looked at the two with his student. A curious gaze was cast upon them and then to his student.
"Well, I didn't expect this." The warrior said in a old voice. "I send you out for one thing, and you come back with two others. Who might you two young souls be?"

((i'll be at wirk till after midnight pacific time, so i'll post now so we're not waiting on me)) Kilo stuck the pointed butt of his glaive in the soft soil outside the cave and let it stand as he stepped inside. out of respect, the fox bowed slightly upon seeing the older warrior. "Greetings, i am Kilo, a fox sellsword recently arrived from the far northlands, and it is an honour to meet a warrior skilled enough to be granted the privilage of older age." for that was how things worked where the Arctic Fox came from, where you had to fight to survive and those who couldn't fight were just a drain unless they were skilled enough to teach, a rare honour,

KayLee’s coin scarf as well as her tambourine jingled slightly as they moved through the woods to the cave where Tor’s mentor waited. “If I am correct, most woodlanders and Redwallers are not the hostile type of creatures. So as long as you don’t threaten them or anything, I don’t suppose you’ll get any trouble from them. That was my experience when last I was around. Though that was many years ago.”
The squirrel-maid looked behind her as Kilo placed his glaive into the soil outside the cave as Tor lead them inside. Least she didn’t have to worry about being in an enclosed space with his weapon. She waited for Kilo to finish his introduction to the old mentor. “..And my name is KayLee, though unlike everyone else here, I am nowhere near to being considered a warrior.” She said with a sweet smile.

((Non-content post, but Kilo also has swords at his belt. a long polearm like a glaive is nigh unusable in a place like a cave though, it'd be a danger to everyone.))

( ooc - Yes, but the rest of his weapons are safely put away. No worry of swinging them around and hurting someone. "Least she didn’t have to worry about being in an enclosed space with his weapon. " - Was only referring to the one glaive. One slip and it could become dangerous to those inside the cave. )

"It's a honor to meet both of you." the old warrior said as he bowed, even though his old bones didn't want him to. "Come in, it's rude to keep others outside."
The old warrior turned and entered the cave, gesturing with a paw to Kilo and Kaylee to enter and he sat down. Facing the entrance of the cave so he could see the two companions with Tor. Tor had sat down as well.

((yes exactly. i was just making sure that was meant as he is still armed.)) Kilo sat against the cavern wall, positioned so he had a clear view of both the entrance and his newfound company, an old habit from the treacherous north. "it would seem from the accounts of my companion here, that things are not as they tend to be here. I suggested we travel together in hopes of figuring it out and possibly even accomplishing our personal goals. i've seen no sign of city or settlement. mayhaps a beast with your experience could guide us to such a location, or have insight into the matter." plots and plans were what foxes did best after all.

KayLee followed into the cave, also sitting down. The squirrel-maid took a moment to look around at each beast, the old warrior and mentor, the warrior in training, and the sellsword. It sure was quite an interesting mix of talent and beasts that made this new group, if one would call this a group.
"Was there any reason you and Tor traveled here?" She asked the old warrior. "Both Kilo and myself were hoping for employment. Though it seems everyone here abandoned this place for some reason. I agree with Kilo that we travel together. We're all better off together then separated, especially if we assume something terrible is going on." She added.

Tor wasn't sure why they had returned to Mossflower. The young dormouse was often just following the warrior instead of making plans on where to go. That was fine with him though.
"I thought it was time to returned to somewhat familiar ground." The old warrior replied. "So far I am yet unsure as to what is causing the place to be so still and not a sight of any creature."
Tor agreed on that. It was strange, from what he could remember from his childhood. It wasn't a rare thing to see a fellow woodlander, it was common. It was a normal occurrence daily. It would be best to stick together, at least for a little while.
"I remember there being a abbey nearby, Redwall Abbey it was called." Tor started. "If something is wrong, I think everyone would've gone there seeking shelter and protection. It's happened before."

"then Redwall Abbey sounds like our destination if we're to get any information" Kilo paused, recalling both Tor's words, and his encounter with the otters when he arrived. "an abbey would like be a peaceable place, i'm sure three armed warriors, myself especially, might cause some comotion just by sight. it seems in my experience, one's race is something to concern yeself about, and mine may have a bit of a negative reputation." "not like it wouldn't be deserved though. some beasts back north partook in the flesh of the fallen. screws with the head though, especially iffin ye go without for a time. never participated myself." Kilo sighed as he thought it over. the Abbey was the best plan they had, but he couldn't account for the actions of woodlanders he knew naught about. at best he'd take his chances, at worst he'd hang back and wait to be called over.

KayLee nodded. “It seems we have our heading.” She said with a slight smile. “If it has happened before and that is where the woodlanders would have gone, then with any luck at least one beast will be there to answer some of our questions.”
The squirrel-maid look to Kilo. “I don’t think you need to worry that much, I mean abbeys are usually peaceful places unless provoked. Woodlanders seem to have a little less tolerance however.” She said, in thought.
“And even if there is no one there, It’ll be better than hiding in a cave.” She added.

"The Abbeydwellers are there to offer a place of peace and rest, along with shelter and food." The old warrior said. "They will protect those that enter their gates but they will not fire straight away unless we were dressed like the Vermin and on their side. But to travelers and woodlanders, they will make sure we aren't a threat by asking what we are there for. Trust me youngsters, if the Abbey has taken the Woodlanders into it's gates to protect them from a threat. They won't attack travelers even if we are armed."
"But if there is a threat, what's to say that the Abbey isn't surrounded?" Tor asked.
