Name: Sukara
Age: 27 (Human Years)
Birthplace: Far North
Gender: Female
Species: Canine (wolf)
Job/Position: Blacksmith/Swordsman
Physical Description:
With a white pelt meant to camouflage Sukara in her native lands, she gets the oddest of looks more south. Her claws are ebony, but her nose holds more of a coal black tint. Because of her domain up north, Sukara’s fur is thick and heavy, making the warmer seasons uncomfortable. And although her species is carnivorous, she tends to stick with seafood only, making her teeth seem sharper because of lack of tougher meats.
Sukara has blue eyes, usually emotionless around strangers, leaving the other creature with a bland, bleak gaze. Her build is rather lean, as most females are smaller and thinner than the males of the species. Because of her build, her lean body gives her the opportunity of a faster pace than many creatures of her size. Sukara’s shoulders are narrow, as well as her hind, and her limbs are strong and long, allowing her a lengthy gait. She is well balanced because of her fine conformation, but she is a little heavier at the shoulder.
Sukara is not perfect. Scars and scratches cover her hide because of the past encounters with vermin and other harsh folk, but she managed to counter-attack worse than a simple gash on the side or nick on one paw. Her fur hides her scars, but not entirely. One could pick out a faint mark on her, but rarely does anyone say anything.
Belongings:
Clothing and Footwear- Black but slightly sun-bleached, Sukara’s cape is her main attire. It is light and beneficial during night battles because it instantly hides her white body giving her easy and nearly invisible maneuvers. Under her cape, she wears baggy, weather-worn pants and a ripped up top. Sukara has black leather boots, the laces made by some thick vine she found on one of many journeys. Her pants are a dark, navy blue and tuck into her worn down boots easily. Her pants pockets are worn down and the left pocket has a large hole, rendering it useless. Sukara’s shirt is forest green in color, and has rips and tears throughout it, as do the pants. When dressed in this cloth, Sukara does indeed look like a bum. Around her waist lies a leather strap with loops fit for carrying weapons.
Weapon(s)-Tucked in her leather belt, Sukara’s treasured sword lies hidden. With a black leather hilt and a round, blue gem beneath the handle, her blade receives greedy looks of many who slap eyes on it. Hand crafted by this white wolf, her sword is one made of Iridium-the strongest, rarest, densest, lightest metal known to all. Her main weapon came from an asteroid that fell from the sky.
Sometimes a sword can’t help in long distance fighting, thus Sukara holds a sling at her waist. Pebbles and other stones are plentiful in some places, and she has a strong arm because of her exhausting practices with her sword. The ropes are hand sewn by Sukara, used by many durable yet thin (many where cut thinner) vines found on multiple voyages. The pouch is made of a wooden cup that was hand carved by Sukara.
Because there are some jobs that must be done quickly and silently, Sukara makes many natural weapons such as wooden daggers carved by a small knife held beside her sword. The blade is nothing fancy, just a little dagger Sukara made in her forge in the north (which she abandoned to come down south and explore). The wooden utensils are held close to the sling, and the blades are held further from the sling to prevent damage to the vine ropes.
Personality:
Sukara is a survivalist, and a born warrior. She is talented in the arts of blacksmithing as well as battle, and her talents are perilous at times. Though, despite her skills and species, she is one of kindness-unusual yet beneficial to all that own a good heart. Her personal weapons are made by her, and she continues to create new things-whether it is a shelter for the night, or climbing gear for those tricky cliffs by the ocean-side. As figured, Sukara is a creative soul; one of perilous and helpful talents as well as a creature of protection.
Sukara is violent in battle, and one of the reasons is that she suffers of blood-wrath in the bigger of battles. Because of her already courageous nature, she becomes unstoppable in a world of slaughter. She becomes oblivious of her wounds, and as the battle rages on, she becomes more insane. Every fight she fights, Sukara takes a risk in being lost in the blood-wrath, but rarely does a small band of vermin raise her anger to the dangerous ‘disease’. But be aware vermin, every wound makes her weaker-she can't live forever.
Sukara helps all those who need her aid. She is a cheerful soul, not one of ambition or evil. Though, her appearance scares some innocent woodlanders. Sukara fights constant battles with what she is. She vowed to never eat meat, aside from fish, and when there is no fish around, she eats plants-she is an omnivore, and she doesn’t mind that. Appearance is her largest battle. Thus, because of her looks, Sukara leads a rather lonely life.
Strengths:
Courage-Though at times dangerous, courage can also be a benefit. Courage can create perilous beasts, such as the Long Patrol Hares, maybe a badger lord. Sukara is a great example. In battle, she will spill her heart for the ones she cares for, or the ones she believes to be worthy of her aid.
Kindness-Always going out of her way to help others, Sukara is a great creature to be around. Not necessarily a role model, but definitely a wolf whose company one would enjoy (if appearance doesn’t bother them). Because of her kindness, Sukara manages to make a few friends.
Durability-Because of her long, grueling voyages, Sukara managed to gain some stamina and durability over the years. Not completely oblivious of dangers and harsh climates, yet still ever-willing to take on a difficult challenge the victory one she thinks she can accomplish.
Weaknesses:
Stubbornness-Courageousness and stubbornness walk hand in hand. Sukara manages to get herself in the worst positions because of her attitude. In battle, it could be the death of her.
Appearance-Because of Sukara’s looks, many avoid her. Because she is seemingly carnivorous, Sukara leads a lonely life. Her diet consists of seafood and plants, but one look at her, and some would flee instantly.
Fur-Sukara’s thick fur and her white coat make her stand out when the sun shines among the lands. Because she is in warmer climates than her native land, she finds it hard to travel during the hotter seasons. Due to her bright coat, she is a prime target for vermin bands and it is more than difficult to travel without being seen. She has to roll in mud or dust to camouflage better with the southern environment.
History:
Sukara came from the land of ice and snow, far north where only the arctic creatures live. Her father, Debon, specialized in blacksmithing, later teaching Sukara about various metals and the ones best for different weapons. He bartered with the northern creatures further south of their home. Sukara’s mother, Lisan, spent most of her days hunting for the family, but Sukara despised the all meat diet. She felt horrible that all these creatures were dieing, and she was eating them-so she scavenged for berries among the barren lands. (I know, a wolf that won’t eat meat? Oh well, Redwall IS a fantasy.)
Over time, Sukara saw her parents less and less, her father trading more of his work, and her mother with him. Debon taught Sukara how to blacksmith, and that is what she accomplished while they were gone. After the usual week of being alone, Sukara fed the fire and lay down in the back of the cave. Later that night, Debon and Lisan hurried in the cave, and woke Sukara. Run was the only word she heard, and that is what she did, with a group of ferrets, weasels, and stoats on her tail, trying to catch her. But they couldn’t keep up with her quick pace. Sukara could run in the snow, and she finally left those burly bums far behind her.
The next morning, after climbing out of the tiny snow den that her parents taught her to build, she sped back to the cave. The whole place was burnt and gore was everywhere. She whimpered before crawling up to her parents’ carcasses. She buried her parents by the cave and dragged the vermin out into the endless snow.
After re-starting the fire with some items from the pine forest behind their cave, Sukara rolled in the rock she found in the forest. It was a part of an asteroid, but she didn’t know that. She inspected the rock and eventually she decided to make a weapon out of it.
After the blade was finished, she let it cool before scavenging through her parents hidden items. She found leather and rubbed it in the coals, staining it black. Then she rammed a blue gem at the bottom of the hilt and lifted it in the air, twisting it a few times to get a feel for her new weapon. A few days later, she made a knife before setting off on her journey south, traveling in the direction that her father took so often.
That journey turned into another and the others turned into others. After years, Sukara came down near the Mossflower Woods. Now she travels onwards, looking to help others in her path, looking to take revenge on all vermin because of her past.
