"Now what are YOU doing here? I've shared all my secrets."
“No, you’ve shared your father’s secrets, child.” Enon turned her back on the young squirrel with contempt, instead watching the otter, waiting as patiently as possible. She took the time to observe the otter. Tattoos adorned her dark fur, but it looked like her fur color wasn’t natural, unlike Enon’s own. She couldn’t say precisely what tipped her off, perhaps it was the sheen of the fur or the shade. She didn’t think it was a tattoo, so it must be dye. Perhaps a semi-permanent one that only came out as the otter shed fur and replaced it.
"If you would take me, I would be most pleased."
“Well lets go then.” The squirrelmaid growled in her hoarse voice, motioning in the direction of the abbey.
"And..." Jani took a deep breath, she had to ask, even if the squirrel did not know, it couldn't hurt to ask, right? "...Do ye happen to know an otter by the name of Tirael?.."
Enon’s head whipped around, her eye focusing on the otter maid’s face for a brief interlude. “Huh.” She turned around and marched off, assuming the otter would follow her. “Knew y’looked familiar. Oh, Tam’s not gonna like this… ” A slow smile grew on her face.

"Redwall is real? [...] Well, I'd best be off."
Jani watched as the young squirrel left rather quickly with a completive face. Listening to his scampering thorough the trees, Jani thought the sound stopped rather quickly and her gut told her that she was being watched. "We haven't see the last of him..." Jani muttered quietly.
“Well lets go then.” The squirrelmaid growled in her hoarse voice, motioning in the direction of the abbey.

Jani's eyes widened a bit and her whiskers twitched. Hurrying after the squirrel with graceful fluid movements, Rajani questioned her. "Tam? Who's that? And you never answered my question! Do you know Tirael?"

Leaf Eye knew the creature knew he was here. He preyed that she would not make an outburst and have him shaned again by that old squirrel. Then he heard her outburst about "Tirael," and knew she was distracted. When she faced the squirrel, from his vantage point, he finally realised what she was...An otter! No other animal had that rudder. He kept silent, waiting for them to move on...

“Och, an’ dat be the truth lass.” Enon returned in the same tone.
"Tam? Who's that? And you never answered my question! Do you know Tirael?"
A hint of amusement entered the ebony squirrel’s voice. “Tampa is his sister. O’ course I know the lad.” A paw lightly touched the newer scars on her face, she turned away from the otter and quickened her pace. “He treated these.”

“Tampa is his sister..."
Jani stopped dead in her tracks. "Sister?.." She whispered. Her paw hovering over the locket beneath her shirt.
His sister?
"I'm...." Rajani tried to speak but her voice dropped dead.
Tirael had a sister? How? Not by birth, yes that must be it. Or is she? Maybe there's another Tirael?
Jani shook her head. She was never going to find out the truth by being left behind, rushing back head she caught back up with the black squirrel.
"...O’ course I know the lad.” A paw lightly touched the newer scars on her face, she turned away from the otter and quickened her pace. “He treated these.”
Jani kept up with the quickened pace. Her mind spinning.
So he's a healer? Well at least he found a better profession. What is he going to think of me. A killer. Will he even remember me? It was a lifetime ago...
"So.." Jani cleared her throat a bit as she tried to alter the subject back as to not put an awkward silence upon her guide. "Is Tirael at Redwall perhaps?"

“His sister.” Enon finished the sentence brusquely, “yeah, I know.” She moved through the trees with a familiar ease that was natural to squirrels. The abbey wall was visible through the trees, the warm red stone towering over their heads.

The squirrel shot a brief contemptuous look over her shoulder. “Nay, I just like lookin’ at the pretty red stone.”
