Amber gazed around in awe as she walked into the Abbey grounds. The great sandstone walls sheltered a vast grassy area, in the center of which stood a giant sandstone building. Amber could also see a pond garden, and even some sort of house next to one of the gates.
The sandstone building had many large windows, in which Amber could see creatures walking back and forth or conversing with each other. Some curtains one the windows were drawn and the lights were out in some of the higher windows. It was a wonderful place.
How wonderful it would be to stay here, to make friends and settle down in this crimson sanctuary. Amber had wished for a chance like this ever since she started wandering around in the woods, alone. It truly was a dream come true.

Ivy glowed with pride as Amber gazed at the surrounding Abbey. Standing up straight, Ivy spoke, "Well, this is it... Redwall Abbey." spinning around, Ivy started to name the parts of the Abbey. "Over there is the gatehouse," she indicated with a pointing finger. "That is the Abbey building, onside is places like Cavern Hole, the Kitchens, and dormitories." Ivy could talk about the Abbey all day, but there were still more urgent priorities.
"Let's get that paw of yours fixed up Amber. Then you can try out more of our famous Redwall food. I don't know about you, but after that, I think I'm going to sleep. It's been a long day." Ivy talked as she led Amber into the building. Leaving behind the final rays of sunlight, the duo entered the sandstone fortress.

Well it's about time, Kolfinna thought when she finally saw the squirrels approaching the abbey. She'd flown upside-down for part of her trip, but ended up taking a faster route to the building. She'd waited up in a tree after that and now that Ivy and Amber were there, she left it.
Kolfinna didn't feel like dealing with the formality of going through the gate. Why bother when she could just fly over it? "Took you long enough!" she told the squirrels as she glided from the tree and down to the other side of the sandstone wall.
Once she was on the ground, sure that she wasn't about to be shot, and more-or-less face-to-face with Amber and Ivy, the raven asked, "What kept you? I didn't think you would be that slow."

"Took you long enough! What kept you? I didn't think you would be that slow."
"Oh, I don't know," Ivy replied with a tinge of sarcasm in her voice. "Maybe it had to do with the fact that I had to help Amber through the woodlands half the way here." Ivy motioned to Amber's wrapped paw. "It's a little hard to climb trees to get around a swamp with one paw, don't you think?"
Expecting a sarcastic remark to follow her comment, Ivy continued walking towards the abbey, with Amber in tow. "Kolffinna, let's see to your food needs, that is if you want more," Ivy turned her head to watch the raven's reaction.

"It's a little hard to climb trees to get around a swamp with one paw, don't you think?"
"I wouldn't know," Kolfinna replied and stretched her wings in indication of them. "Lack of paws and all." She folded them again and said, "It sounds like you two took a poor route though. Maybe I should have offered to carry you both here. I doubt that would've been very enjoyable though."
"Kolffinna, let's see to your food needs, that is if you want more."
Food needs? Kolfinna though, trying not to laugh at the way Ivy'd described it. "I'm more interested in the building," she admitted simply, "but if there's food on the way, I might sample it."

"It sounds like you two took a poor route though. Maybe I should have offered to carry you both here. I doubt that would've been very enjoyable though."
Amber smirked. "Like I would trust you with my life, Raven." She continued to observe the abbey in silent awe. The building was very well built, with high walls and great wooden gates.
"Kolfinna, let's see to your food needs, that is if you want more,"
Amber's eyes brightened. "There's food here?" As if to confirm her excitement on the idea of food, Amber stomach growled. She wondered what kind of food there might be at a place like this. Maybe there will be more 'oatcakes' or what ever the squirrel called those delicious bits of bread.. Yum!

"It sounds like you two took a poor route though. Maybe I should have offered to carry you both here. I doubt that would've been very enjoyable though."
"Like I would trust you with my life, Raven."
Smiling at Amber's stinging reply, Ivy listened intently on the conversation.
"I'm more interested in the building, but if there's food on the way, I might sample it."
Ivy blinked at Kolffina's reply. She might sample it? Humph, it's more likely that she would eat them out of house and home. A raven of that size must eat more than the average mouse, squirrel, or other creature. Yet, she appreciated Kolffina's interest in the Abbey's architecture. A smile hovered on Ivy's lips.
"There's food?
Her smile grew into a grin. "Food? There's enough food here to feed an army Amber! And the food here is better than the mere oatcakes I gave you earlier. But we better get that paw of yours fixed up first," Ivy insisted. "Come on," she beckoned both creatures inside the abbey.
((okay.... Uggg... Definitely not my best post ever... You okay with me saying that 'bought Kolffina? It's not supposed to be bad, it's just sizer difference and all that.))

"Come on,"
Obediently, Amber followed. She was very hungry, though this was not uncommon for her. She had had to starve through many cold winter days and nights. She was used to hunger, but the idea of getting some real food to eat encouraged her to follow. If she could get some food.... That would be perfect.

A fleeting smile flashed over Ivy's features, her gaze flicked over the two travelers. She relished in the fact that she had come across Redwall, her present home. Safe in it's grasp like a baby protected by it's mother. Wanting to give something back, Ivy protected it with her life.
She resumed walking up the steps leading to the abbey. Followed obediently by Amber, Ivy slipped through the huge doors leading to the Great hall. Light burst into her vision as Ivy entered Redwall. Squinting, she spread her paws wide in welcome.
Ivy spoke, her voice full of pride for her beloved Abbey."Welcome to Redwall Abbey!"
((So... Just wondering how we're going to end this thread. Do you want to keep going with this, or should it end as Kolfinna and Amber coming to Redwall? Not sure if this is leading anywhere else, but tell me if you have an idea 'bought it.))
