Enon paced briskly down the road, singing an old regimental marching song under her breath, but loud enough to be heard if one was not too far away. She was aware of the danger in Mossflower, and proceeded with caution, and belted out the song in true hare-speech.
O'er the hills an' far away, 'Twas there I left my dearie, An' as I left I heard her say, 'Come back to me d'ye hear me, Y' may eat cake and drink pale wine, But come back home at autumn time, An' on fresh bread and cheese you'll dine, For no one brews good ale like mine.
O fields are green and skies are blue, Ole woods are high an' full o' loam, But, hearken friend I'll tell you true, Ain't no place in the world like home.
O'er the hills and far away, 'Tis there my home's awaitin' The season's shorter by a day, Whilst I'm anticipatin' A logfire made from cracklin' pine, An' washin' dancin' on the line, As blossoms 'round the door entwine, Hurrah, for there's that dearie mine!
The black squirrel soon fell quiet, she was tired, for she'd been traveling almost constantly for the last few days. Her fur and clothing were covered with trail-dust, but there was nothing in the way she held her bow or wore her dagger that suggested she was not as swift and on the alert as usual.

Violet was walking on the path when she suddenly heard somebeast singing.
O'er the hills an' far away,'Twas there I left my dearie, An' as I left I heard her say, 'Come back to me d'ye hear me, Y' may eat cake and drink pale wine, But come back home at autumn time, An' on fresh bread and cheese you'll dine, For no one brews good ale like mine.

"Who goes there?" she yelled as a black squirrel rounded a bend.
"Be you Friend or Foe?"

Dilvora the adder was slithering between the trees, his huge body not making a sound. He was lured by the sound of singing, and he was hungry enough to eat anybeast who he saw first. The adder reared up his head at the site of not just one, but two travelers, and one was even a squirrel, his favorite meal. Dilvora looked at the two creatures with emerald eyes "come to me, and ill show you something of great treasshure my little animals" he hissed with his red tongue

Violet cocked an ear. She thought she heard something. She turned her head slightly and out of the corner of her eye she saw an adder coiled to spring.
"Run!" She screamed and took off sprinting down the path.
"Oi, squirrel move or you'll be adder meat. RUN!" She screamed over her shoulder to the squirrel standing on the path.

Dilvora hissed and slithered on the path to the standing squirrel, his emerald eyes twinkling "you cant run from dessstany, my creatures, come to me and ill get rid of your pain" he was getting closer to the squirrel who hadn't run, and quickly too.

Violet saw the Adder getting closer to the squirrel. She turned around and grabbed the squirrel's arm.
"Come on you silly beast" She pulled the squirrel down the path a couple feet, but it was enough to get the squirrel out of the way of the adder. She knew what they could do and made sure to keep her head down.

Dilvora knew that if that squirrel had to pll the other it was only a matter of time before he caught up "why get your ssself exhausted? just stand still and it will all be over" he hissed, he stretched out his neck and opened his mouth wide.

Violet keeping her head down reached for her sword. Unsheathing it she gripped it in her paws getting ready to side swing hopefully taking the adder's head off. She was at a disadvantage because she didn't want to look up. She swung, but instead it ricocheted off a tree a clipped the side of the adder's head.

"Who goes there?" she yelled as a black squirrel rounded a bend. "Be you Friend or Foe?"
“Well, that depends on who ye are.” Enon said, switching her bow to her left paw and pausing in her walk to stretch. She sniffed, the breeze suddenly bringing with it the scent of adder.
"come to me, and ill show you something of great treasshure my little animals"
Enon backed away a few steps, eyes on the adder. She whacked out at him with her sturdy bow.
"Run! Oi, squirrel move or you'll be adder meat. RUN!"
The mouse took off with a scream, yelling advice over her shoulder. “I willna be adder meat taeday, miss.” Enon said, backing away again. The snake was moving quickly, hissing all the while, and Enon had just loaded her sling to take a shot when the mouse returned and shook her aim by grabbing her arm and pulling her down the path.
"Come on you silly beast."
“”tis ye who are silly,” Enon ran another few steps before pausing and turning again, resetting the stone in her sling, “Grabbin’ me arm when Ah’m swingin’ me sling.” She swung a final time and released, the stone hitting the flat path right before the snake’s slithering nose.
“Cuim nae further, adder!”

The adders eyes blazed at the brave squirrel, but he gave no fights up just because one had a sling, he had taken many stones at his head before. He slithered closer, opened his mouth wide, bent his head back in an S and with full speed he went forward.
OCC: i can only guess how far behind he was.

Violet stared in shock at the brave squirrel.
“Cuim nae further, adder!”
"Are you mad? That's a fully grown adder and you're just going to face it with a sling?" She stood back. It was obvious that the squirrel knew what it was doing and was a seasoned warrior.

"A fully grown adder, eh?" A voice called. "Nothin' we can't handle, eh Rocky?" The vocie said again. "Right Meko. Let's go." Another replied. The two inseperable otters, Rocky and Meko, heard shouts from when they were out foraging. The two otters raced to the scene with Rocky out front, and took in the scene: A squirrel, a mouse, and an adder. "This'll be fun, eh Rock?" Meko said, laughing. "Aye, mate. Very fun."
Rocky pointed to a direction around the adder, and he stood in front of it, well... next to Enon. Meko grabbed his javelin from his back, held it up and slammed it downwards aiming at the adder's tail, and Rocky grabbed his broadsword and hacked downwards at the beast's head.

Dilvora pulled his head back just in time to escape the blade, but his tail wasnt quick enough and it began to sting, the tip had been chopped off. As ad efending move he struck with his fangs outstretched, aiming to bit the otter in front of him with his teeth and he slashed his tail aiming to knock the other off his feet.

Rocky jumped backwards, and hacked down at the adder's head, and Meko was knocked flat on his back by the adder's tail. He quickly gained his footing and jumped back up, and threw his javelin at the back of the adder, growling at it.
