I don't like a sad ending, so I ask that no one makes this into one. Therefore, I will have one rule, and one rule only: you shall not, under any circumstances, say the word "goodbye," nor the latter half of said word. April 2nd (tomorrow) is my last day here, and I'd really rather it not be spoiled by a bunch of frowning emoticons.
Customarily, people post what I tend to call "hello posts," but seeing as I've been here for a while now, and it's far too late for that, I've decided that it's high time for my farewell post (technically a different word ).
So, without furter adieu:
I'm Skip, the Scottish-American who was long ago sucked into the irresistible vortex known as the ROC. I have created and developed several characters, such as Barr Stromness, Shor Tydesong, Bruff Spaffort, and the infamous Lachie Stromness, or, as Tirael knows him, "the devil." Lachie has been a huge part in my role-playing since the day his profile was accepted, footnotes and all, though he has since earned a reputation as the scourge of all healers.
All right, time be serious again.
You may also know that I recently lost two very close family members, which has been really hard on me. This, among several other things, is forcing me to put all of my focus on real life, and spending all my time with what's left of my family. On the other hand, I need time to process my emotions, and my posts would probably be scatter-brained and confused were I to attempt staying around. That is to say that I can no longer be a part of the ROC. I honestly do not want to disclose any information on the matter over the internet, but if you must know why it is I'm leaving, you can contact me by e-mail.*
I wish I could stay -- I really do, but I'm just stuck between a rock, and a hard place. . . and another rock. The fact is, I'm just not able to keep up, and it would be unwise to try to continue role-playing (among other things -- you're not the only ones I'm leaving).
So, I guess this is goodbye. . .
. . . dang it. . .
*It's only fair to warn you -- I don't often check my e-mail (It just slips my mind so easily.), so don't expect a reply immediately. This footnote's for you, Tir.
