Here's what I do know about the plot:
Now that that's out of the way, here's my idea for rejoining before the final conflict. Lachie, although an otter, is the most useful character I have at hand currently, and one of my most flexible ones at that, which is why I think I'll use him in this plot. He won't be any kind of main character, just some helpful beast who happens to pass by at a good time.
If I'm correct, we've tried some attacks on Fort N'tashi, and the plot's still going, which leads me to believe that said attacks failed. Clearly, you'll need a different approach. So, I thought, "What could Lachie do to give the protagonists an opening?" Then I thought of Lachie being inside Fort N'tashi, and. . . well. . . There you go.
I do not know if N'tashi is a superstitious beast, but if so, then Lachie could get on his good side with ridiculous ease. If anything has happened within Fort N'tashi, it would be helpful to know, so that I might be able to play off of the circumstances. Think of the finality of an event, such as all of the gates opening at once to welcome in our cheerful protagonists, axe in paw. On the other hand, I could try something as simple as turning every vermin-creature against one another within the fort, or even merely dispensing significant information to the goodbeasts.
Anyway, my computer's about to freeze on me -- I'm sure of it, so I'm gonna stop with the rambling there. If anyone has any ideas or openings, please let me know.
