Redwall has been in ruins, lost, and forgotten for over 150 years. Vermin are now more populated than ever and even have their own port... The seas are as treacherous as ever with the waters now traveled and ran by searats and the like. Its a darker time...than it once was...
Undertaker, originally born Celleron, is from a land far beyond Mossflower wood. Over the mountains and through the valleys and far beyond the forest beyond that as well is a ominous land where it is almost always dark and cloudy. 20 year before he joined the Skipper's crew, he was next in line to take reign in the kingdom of his Father's and rule the stronghold. His is of a Royal bloodline and his bloodline is very much so different from that of any other otter's. With his Dark Brown(almost Black) fur, his milky red/white eyes(a trait of his bloodline), his strong build and towering height he was ideal to lead in that land. However this is not what he wanted at the time. Ruling a kingdom was not what he had planned. Celleron left the lands seeking isolation and went into exile into the mountains. During the time he was away more happened than anybeast would have expected...Dannarth Tolrak, a Wildcat Warlord with an army as far as the eye could see, wiped the kingdom off the face of the lands, taking control and turning the place into a lost and forgotten myth. When Celleron would return he would find he was the Last of his kind...and the last of his Bloodline...
The only evidence of them was the Medallion that he bore around his neck...the only heirloom left to any of his kind. For years he traveled with nothing else to do but live and defeat any vermin creature that crossed his path. This was his way. It was how he acted. Straight-faced and stern, hardly an emotion on it but for some reason a look that struck terror into any vermin that gazed at him.
Years later the Skipper of Sea Otters(Irvine Wolf), happened upon him. After a bit of a scuffle (trying to find out weather or not the skipper was vermin or not) he eventually settled in his mind that he was not a threat. The Skipper however saw his skills in fighting and mending. He would indeed be a good crewbeast on board his Ship The Lancebreaker. The skipper would be the only beast out of the 400 in his crew that would know about Celleron's(renamed Undertaker by the Skipper) past.
