I just thought I'd put up my char's Hsitory. (this would be one gigantic flashback though! ;D )
History: Elip was born at Salamandastron. Elip was once, (about three seasons ago) a hare who wished he could be a part of the Long Patrol, but was constantly told that he was too young. But in spite of the words being told to him, Elip was positive that he could do something that would prove he was worthy and able to be on the Long Patrol, and went about, eyes open, ears peeled for his chance. One day...he got his chance! Though he would have rather had an easier 'chance'.
He had gone out alone one day, mad after getting in trouble for trying to slip into Long Patrol ranks and had stumbled upon a small band of sea rats who were patrolling the shores. Elip got into ear range to hear them speaking of their captains plans of taking over 'some badger mountain'. With his trusty wooden sword, the skilled young hare quickly put out five of the six vermin, bringing the last back to Salamandastron with him, where the rat was ehem, THERRALLY questioned. The Lady Badger Lord was alighted to an attack on her mountain.
As the sea rat told her and those questioning him of his captain, Juke Fang, who was planning an attack on the mountain. The rat and his companions had been left behind on a previous raid, miles from where Elip had found them and had ran to where they heard the mountain was so they could meet back up with their captains crew, and take part in the mountain's fabled booty. Knowing this information the Lady Badger Lord had her Patrol prepare for battle. Elip was allowed to take part in the battls, as if it were not for him they would have been "attacked in the night." Elip fought like never before seen from a Salamandastron hare, immediately earning himself official rank in the Long Patrol after the large battle was over.
Some time later(about one seasons) a lone vessel strayed to the shores of Slamandastron...in its wreckage were a badly injured crew of sea otters. The kind hares brought them into the infirmaries and tended their wounds.
Once the crew had recovered enough to speak, they told the hares that that they were a northern otter clan who had chosen to sail away from their home lands to greener shores. But the seas had not been good to them, and they had sailed into violent waters. The leader of their clan was a strong but pretty ottermaid named Sonoma.
The otters dwelled in the mountain fortress until they had made a full recovery. During this time Elip's family became very close friends with Sonoma and her otter clan. Elip's mother and father had also spoken to Sonoma about Redwall, and the great welcome they would receive there, her clan voted to live near the mentioned Abbey, and enjoy the peaceful life it would bring. Having only heard tales of "the first rate tuck" at Redwall, Elip was only more than exited to leave with Sonoma to visit the Abbey.
After sometime of askling his parents the same question over and over, they settled on a deal with their friend Sonoma where she would come to Salamandastron every two seasons and take Elip to visit Redwall. The kind otter was more than happy to take up the offer. Her clan was one that traveled so it would be no bother, and besides, it would give her a good reason to come back to Salamandastron, she had become great friends with the Lady Badger Lord and hares there, especially Elip and his parents.
Thus began a new chapter of adventures in Elip's life, he'd also have to get acquainted with another battle cry now, REDWALLLL!
