Physical Description:
A tiny fox kit, Frenner is smaller and thinner than a foxbabe his age should be. Still a bit clumsy on his footpaws - particularly when running - his paws are often dusty from catching himself in stumbles. His fur is still fluffy and soft, having not yet developed coarse guard hairs; he is largely red, with white muzzle and underparts, and his ears, paws, and footpaws are black. Frenner's tail has not yet grown into a foxy brush and is instead short and puffy, with a black tip rather than typical white; his eyes are large, almond-shaped, and bright gold. Frenner has not yet developed a particular taste in clothing, merely wearing whatever he's put in (or nothing at all); despite his infant clumsiness, he is a cheerful creature with a lively, outgoing look to him. All in all, he is a rounded creature with short, relatively soft and blunt claws, stubby whiskers, and a snub nose, a small and slightly awkward toddler still far from growing into the lean, sleek beast most people think of when they hear 'fox'.Belongings:
N/APersonality:
Curious and outgoing, Frenner fears nobeast - he hasn't had time to learn to. While some postures - standing aggressively or raising a paw, for instance - will upset him, he is generally a happy kit who rarely cries. He can be contrary and willful, as any child can, and must be watched lest he wander off alone; at his age, Frenner is just learning to test limits, and he will do just that to see what he can get away with. Still, despite his mischievous streak and his ingrained reactions to certain postures, he is a friendly and cheerful young creature not yet corrupted by the deceitful and sly nature his species tends to be known for.History:
Born to a small band of thieves who operated at the very edges of Mossflower, Frenner was taken along when his parents decided to move south in hopes of spoils from the recently ended war. With his mother as one of the band's high-ranking foxes, Frenner was often passed around amongst the band's members; as such, while he preferred his mother's presence he quickly learned to accept other adults. Though he didn't understand the situation, Frenner was happy enough to travel, and was delighted with the changing scenery. The only issue was his curiosity lending itself to a tendency to wander off at stops - a tendency that was taken better by some members of the band than others.Code Words: -correct-
Then the band reached the Redwall area. Things immediately became more difficult.
The recent war in Mossflower had left the woodlanders seasoned and able warriors. Instead of the war-weary civilians the thieves had been hoping for, the creatures were steady beasts ready to defend themselves and their homes. Mediocre at best in the art of foraging, the band found themselves on hard times; as always happens in such circumstances, it was the younger and weaker members - like Frenner - who suffered first.
Disaster struck when the hungry thieves attempted to target a small group of scouting Guosim. Totally unprepared for such a focused and fierce defense, the band was broken and scattered with several members slain - and with the war so fresh on everybeasts' mind, the defenders were ready to pursue. Frenner's mother Belladonna found herself the target of one such pursuit, her son in tow; unable to move as quickly as she could alone, the vixen decided to take a gamble.
Woodlanders would never harm a helpless kit.
Woodlanders would look after her son if they found him, care for and protect him until she was able to steal him back.
With this in mind, she concealed Frenner in the bush, instructing him to stay where he was until she returned and then fleeing alone. Either the woodlanders would find him and he would enjoy their plenty until she returned, or she would be able to retrieve him once she shook her pursuers.
Of course, Frenner's nature couldn't be suppressed - particularly as he didn't understand what was happening - and as soon as he was over his fright the foxbabe left hiding, toddling out into the woods alone.
