Physical Description:
Darmani is slight. He is one of the smallest creatures imaginable, yet he uses it to his advantage. He looks like a child, therefor he is usually underestimated. His brush tail is taller then he is, and wider too. It is a wonder that he can stand with all that weight at his back.Belongings:
His fur is of a brilliant shade of red, it really makes him stand out in the forest. The only variation is a darker read on his tail, paws, and snout. Those are several shades darker than the rest of him. His eyes, on the other hand, are a light, merry brown. They always seem to shine with humor and friendliness
He covers himself with a jerkin of yellow. He has a grey sash around his waist, with sling, and two dagger sheathes on opposite hips. A pouch for rocks is positioned behind him. As well as his jerkin and sash, he has a white neckerchief fastened about his neck.
A pouch filled with smooth pebbles taken from streams and rivers, A sling of white, and two daggers. Very special daggers. Both daggers are curved, and never need a whetstone. The reason is that each blade consists of minute teeth. Coupled with the flint on the mouth on the sheath and oil, each blade could be engulfed in flames if pulled out fast enough.Personality:
Darmani is probably one of the most friendliest, talkative beasts you'll ever meet. He's most always found with a smile on his face or laughter on his lips, and he always talks. He'll talk even with no one around to listen to him. But it's never mindless prattle. He'll say what he thinks, or make observations. Beasts, upon first meeting him, can't help but to like the squirrel so he make friends easily. To counteract that, though, he has a mean temper held on a short leash. Get him mad, and he will let you know it. Also, he's not a morning person. He's grumpy and quiet for awhile after he first wakes up.History:
He loves the trees, like most of his kind. He spends as much time as he can in branches. But, he hates water. When it rains, he wants to find shelter as quickly as possible. He refuses to take a bath except when ABSOLUTELY necessary, and he doesn't like being on it or over it.
He seems to be wearing a mask, this squirrel. At some points in a conversation, he might go quiet. His brush with slavery left its mark, and now Darmani is trying to reclaim his innocence.
Darmani was raised in a huge clan of squirrels somewhere outside of mossflower. His home was, for some time, a tree house near the base of a giant sycamore the clan called home. His family was small;A mother, a father, an older brother, and a baby sister. His brother was one who dreamed. He yearned to travel to the farthest reaches and come back with tales to tell to wide-eyed younglings. His father was a blacksmith, an odd job for a squirrel, and his mother took care of the house. His little sister wanted to go to the fabled Redwall, but the journey was too far for her yet. As for Darmani himself, he just wanted to perform. He wanted to be in the spotlight, and have people enjoy his antics. He got a few chances here and there, and enjoyed it completely.Code Words: -correct-
On one unfortunate night, though, a band of vermin decided to disguise themselves as actors, and steal from local villages. Their last was Darmani's village. They knew how to perform, for vermin, and their skit got thunderous applause. Darmani, old enough to go out into the world, decided to leave like his brother a year before. After telling his family of his intentions, he was cautioned. His father didn't like the look of the 'actors,' and didn't want his son to go off after them. Darmani wouldn't listen though. This was his first chance to perform with a professional group, so he followed the vermin when they left, and asked to join them. The leader, wanting to expand from petty theft to slavery, tricked young Darmani and allowed him in the carriage. Once inside, the squirrel was locked in chains and left for he vermin to deal with later.
Darmani somehow managed to escape before he was sold off, but he ended up far from home. He wanders now with no purpose but to enjoy life, and to never be tricked again. Maybe one day, he'll return to his home and regale his family with his travels, but right now he wants to be on his own.
