At first glance it is obvious that you can see what Belinda's species and appearance is. To start off her build is mostly lean, but her legs and arms have a good amount of muscle in them, which lends her strength when she is hauling something about. Her legs are built to carry her in a erect position, her foot paws a bit large and rough padded, suited for walking a long distant without being bruised or scratched. Her hands seem a bit dainty, but they are skilled in completing many tasks, able to handle things gingerly. Being tall and even mighty looking she looks a bit dangerous, but she is the average height of any other female badger. Since Belinda is considerably thin she is a little more quicker and has better reflexes then some other badgers. Her fur, when looked at, looks well kept and even has it's own sheen, yet is rough at touch. Her design fits her last name well, she has the average black and white coloring on at her forehead there is a noticeable black swirl. Belinda isn't like the average badger, though she still posses the will to fight and determination of one. Unlike one she is a bit corrupt, often making snap judgments and leaping before she looks at what she is heading into. Belinda is a bit clever, able to bend things to her will with both her appearance and intellect once she calms and thinks about the situation. She isn't good at restraining herself when she has the will to fight or speak up. It's hard to convince Belinda to do something other then what she has in mind, if you speak with the least bit of uncertainty she will pick up on that and think her ideals are better then your own. She usually has a solemn, plain, or angered expression playing on her face most of the time. It's hard to make her laugh or even chuckle when she is thinking or is serious about something. Belinda is excellent at making deals and good ones too. She knows how to talk her way threw things, but she doesn't mind using physical combat to settle things. Belinda has a good amount of courage, not minding to used to accomplish a goal when it is for a good reason. She is defiant yet can accept any situations she is in without causing much commotion. Belinda is also very good at following orders, experienced in the occupation of being a slave it was always good to remember your orders or be punished. When it comes to the thing she likes and dislikes she is very into fishing and bartering. She has excellent patience when it came to fishing, always taking things slowly and carefully. Trading anything she has for a better item is also something she is good at, and having a sharp eye she can tell if anything she is getting is fake or real. Due to talking to many creatures, both vermin and woodlander, she has good social skills and is able to deal with most species wandering the lands.History and Background Information:
When Belinda was only a small child she was originally named Swirl due to the black swirl located at the top of her forehead. She was a bouncy and happy child, determined and strong-willed just as her father, gentle and kind-hearted like her mother. She didn't have any family members so she usually spent her time playing alone, sometimes playing with any other young woodlanders she met. She wasn't that shy thankfully, and she was loved by many. But whens he was seven seasons her small home was attacked by a horde of vermin, her mother and father slaughtered after they refused to stop fighting against the uneven odds. Belinda also fought, taking down about two or three rats before she was knocked unconscious by the but of a sword. She woke up feeling heavy and drowsy, and for some reason the wooden floor under her felt like it was moving. Hearing a faint sob she was suddenly aware of the presence of others around her. Belinda didn't understand what was happening and why a poor creature was crying in this dark place. Moving a bit she found herself restrained, chains restricting much movement. The young badger quietly asked to herself out loud what was going on, and someone surprising answered. She was on a ship ran by sea rats, and then it hit her. Belinda's mother and father were dead, and now she was here, on a ship with a vermin crew. You would expect her to sob or whine or even withdraw herself from the world entirely but she only gave a growl of annoyance at the current situation.Any other details:
When all heard the pattering of footsteps most had the feeling of despair while Belinda was nothing more then curious. A touch was brought in bringing some light in the damp and dark place, and Belinda took the chance to look around. Woodlanders and even one or two vermin where chained to the walls, most awake, crying, or wallowing in self-pity. A few held angered and solemn expressions. Belinda was the only badger here. A slaver walked in briskly and looked at each slave, checking to see if they were up and ready for the task awaiting them. Some who were to weak or close to death were left where they were. While others were starting to be escorted out. When the large and heavy rat faced Belinda she only blinked up at him curiously, tilting her head a bit. She had never seen a beast like this and the look of confusion that crossed her face made the rat laugh. She had her chains unlocked and was told to tread lightly, she didn't know what that meant but she walked toward the exit that lead to the deck of the vermin's ship. Never being on a boat before Belinda was both frightened yet amazed at the blue sea and the warm air that scented of salt. She was led toward a bucket and told to start cleaning the deck, and she did what she was told.
Cleaning things was nothing new to her, she actually enjoyed the task when she saw that her work was completed. Other ship slaves were quickly cleaning too, moving hurriedly when ever they felt any slavers eyes on them. Belinda met the stares head on but when they looked away she continued with her duty. She returned to ether being chained or placed in a cage with others every night. She met a couple of friends but made sure to talk with them occasionally. Belinda turned into a oar slave when she was older and bigger. She was given a larger diet since she was one of the biggest slaves there, and was watched carefully. She did show some signs of defiance as she got older, sometimes known to snap at growl at any vermin or even slaves that annoyed or bothered her. Seen as a little more dangerous now she was sent to a fortress to serve and work there. It was worser there then on the ship. Many creatures had to work hard, some even dieing from the effort of pulling, lifting and pushing. Belinda was whipped occasionally but hardy ever backed down, and being the cowards they were the slavers made sure to be careful of her. She hardly complained about conditions, enduring them easily and making them more comfortable for herself. She was taught to fish since she was one of the few who could lift a fishes carcass out of the water and bring it back to the fortress.
And soon enough he found herself in new conditions, it was a newly formed horde she was given to. And Belinda found herself branded with a iron earring, it was uncomfortable at first but she became use to the newly acquired item. Still a bit like a child she was taught to cook and give medicines by a old vixen, but her main use was to fight and look danger. Fear was a good advantage against enemies, that's why the leader of the horde had decided to take her as one of their own. She was given generous amounts of food and was well taken care of herself as she was seen as useful. Belinda became a bit more viscous and was a little more greedy with what she had. The horde eventually separated and with the death of leader all went their separate ways. Realizing she had a chance of freedom Belinda took it, knowing she could full well take care of herself. She became interested in fishing again, deciding to use her old skills to collect food for herself. It was also easy to give away any fish for a acceptable price, and she found herself to be quite the acceptable barterer. And years later she found herself at the age of 24, successful and currently settled and happy with her life.
