Hurth is short and stubby, even for a mole. His fur is a dark sable black, soft, short and thick. His eyes are a cheery black, and very expressive. He's a little tubby, but not terribly so, and his digging claws are blunt and strong. He usually wears a dark gray or lighter brown tunic or jacket.

Belongings:

His carpentry tools are a must, as is his belt and changes of clothes. Truly, Hurth doesn't have all that many worldly possessions.

Personality:

Hurth is a simple creature, quiet by necessity, as he was born without the ability to talk, though he can make high squeaking noises or low growling noises if in distress or emergency. Never the less, he's a pleasant fellow, having worked out a system of gestures most creatures can understand, and if not, his little nephew often hangs about him and he understands his ol' unk pretty well. If he's not there, Hurth has a pad of paper and a charcoal stick, if all else fails.

Hurth loves his work, he certainly has a knack for it. He can usually be found puttering around someplace, fixing things or creating new things, such as boats for the dibbuns to float on the underground springs.

History and Background Information:

Hurth was born the mute second son of his mother, though there were two sisters and a brother before him and three brothers and a sister behind who were all normal in that way and others. At first it was believed that he was simply a quiet baby, he was six seasons before they decided he must be mute, with some help from Camp Moss's healer who they had traveled to see.

By that time, Hurth's mother was expecting his twin next-younger brothers, and they elected to stay at the Camp. They just never left.

Hurth attended the camp school and learned to read and write, this was his main form of communication for years, though slowly he developed a system of signs that soon became, if not universally understood, at least not too hard to interpret.

Nothing much of significance has occurred in Hurrth's life, he's never had the urge to settle down with a wife, though all but one sister and two brothers have settled and have broods of their own.
