Your character's full name:
Species: Badger
Gender: Male
Appearance:
Caion (Cai)Age: 19
Species: Badger
Gender: Male
Appearance:
Caion is a mid sized badger, certainly smaller than most other males, but by no means tiny. His build is not particularly burly, either, although he doesn't lack the natural bulk that badgers have. His fur is darker than most others, Edging from black to dark brown, with white only appearing on his underbelly, in a stripe down his face and onto the back of his neck, and in dashes beneath each eye. His fur ruffles around his head and the back of his neck, giving him a mohawk appearance, which he nurtures with the occasional messy cut.Belongings:
Caion is branded, a burn in the shape of a half circle with a line beside it has become a light pink scar on the back of his left shoulder. He doesn't pay much mind to it, or give any attempt to covering it- seeing as he is most regularly shirtless or wearing only a vest or tunic.
Caion owns a dagger and a bow staff, but rarely uses either. He accrued few possessions as a younger beast and has only lately began collecting a few small things.Job or Position:
Caion lacks a specialty, he has yet to become particularly skilled with weaponry but has pursued an interest with blacksmithing to some extent.Personality:
Caion is an outgoing creature; he is quick to start up a conversation or crack a joke. Nothing grates on his nerves like an awkward or tense silence. However, although he is well meaning and friendly, he remains a young beast and can sometimes come off as a bit insensitive or full of himself.History and Background Information:
When confronted or angry, Caion reacts by falling silent. He is saddened more often than outraged, a reaction that can surprise some- coming from a badger. In times of stress the young beast becomes much more secluded. He appears to take his time alone to trouble over his feelings; once he returns back to a social situation he often acts as if whatever was bothering him has simply disappeared.
While sensitive, Caion does not lack bravery. When the circumstances call for it he is quite able to snap back with vocal anger, perhaps he's even managed to throw a punch or two. Caion's sense of what constitutes an argument, and action or even danger is simply a bit different from others. Having a weapon pulled on him, for example, is not met with nervousness, fear, anger, or any noticeable emotion. A situation must degrade quite drastically for Caion to feel motivated enough to do much about it, his temper is very much under control.
The reason for this odd reaction is his innate ability to read others. A few beasts have even mentioned his ability to appear almost seer-like, though he equates it to his unfortunate childhood. Caion will act, and act quick and forceful, when he sees a need.
Caion knows he was born in the north, he knows that his father was a guard on trading ships that moved large amounts of goods all along the shore and even out to sea to pristine utopia islands in the middle of nowhere. He knows that when he was very young he and his mother accompanied many voyages, and he knows that on one of them he became an orphan.Any other details: Code Words: -CORRECT-
He knows, but does not remember- as if he is somehow disconnected from the few short years he spent there. From there on out his life became a much harsher reality. The corsairs that attacked the ship he'd been on saw the opportunity to arm themselves with what they thought could be a valuable weapon in the future.
The following years were spent doing what anyone can expect, jobs suited for a weak beast but not for a child. He was regularly shoved into dangerous small spaces to fix small things, patch leaks or hide and retrieve things about the ship. He grew to the chaos, the noise, the occasional roughing up he gets and all together life on a pirate vessel.
Camped along the River moss one evening the small badger, about age 7 at the time, deliberately stepped in front of the ships captain, tripping him up mid stride. The offense got his a heavy smack to the head, but his plan when into action as quickly as he struck back with an ill-placed punch. An ugly intended failure followed. In the end Caion was left badly beaten and the crew was anxious to get back on the ship. Acting as if his leg was broken and practically crawling towards the ship the enraged Captain left him behind, "to rot."
Days later he was brought into the woodlanders community. Despite his young age he was particularly independent and went on as such for many years, never having a true adoptive family, but rather a handfull or parental figures scattered about the group.
As he has aged and lost some of the immaturity of youth, Caion has had feelings of loneliness. For whatever reason, the badger takes long walks on his own, sometimes spending days away. Confused, as many beasts that age are, and feeling as if his place is not as it should be, Caion's future is all sorts of uncertain.
