Upon first meeting, others may think he is an ordinary fox, but after knowing him a little better, they will realize he is nothing like a regular fox, or a regular beast, period. Springheel is an expert at acrobatics, so he can climb trees, do flips, and jump higher than normal, thus giving him the name: Springheel Jakk.History and Background Information:
There's not much to say about his early ages, seeing as how it's basically the same with every other beast.Any other details:
Jakk was part of a rough family, 3 older brothers, and 1 parent; His father. He was born and raised around roughness, whether it be wrestling with his brothers, or getting beaten by his father over the stupidest things. At age 10, Jakk's home was raided by corsairs, his father was cut down in front of him, and his brothers were taken to be part of the crew. Only by sheer fear and speed, did Jakk escape. He ran out of his home as fast as his short legs would carry him. It took only seconds for the corsairs to know there was a fifth family member, and they gave chase. Jakk's three brothers knew they wouldn't have a life ahead of them, but they knew Jakk still had a chance. They bit ans kicked until they were free from the grasps of many corsairs, and they started to fight and hold some corsairs off to give they younger brother time. Jakk, not wanting to leave his brothers to a brutal fate, turned back and ran towards his brothers, his rescuers, and he ran through the middle of the corsairs, pushing and punching until he was right there beside his brothers. All 4 foxes stood up, fists clenched, ready to fight. They weren't fairing well until the beast came. It was large and tall, and it wore a cloak so it's species was unidentifiable, and it walked right over to the corsairs and with one swipe of its arm, laid 4 corsairs flat. It lifted the four foxes and threw them away from battle and fought with the ferocity of 10 maddened badgers. The brothers stood there in terror, and then they turned around, only for their line to be blocked by other corsairs. The oldest brother was cut down and the two middle brothers were taken captive. "Run Jakk! Run! You still have a life ahead fo you! Go!" They both shouted, but Jakk stood his ground, never wanting to leave. He summoned up all his courage, picked up a thick piece of driftwood and ran at the corsairs. It was a feeble attempt, but Jakk somehow managed to knock one corsair out cold before he was taken captive. His brothers's eyes shone with gratitude, even though they were being taken captive. The 3 remaining brothers were left as oarslaves among these bloodthirsty corsairs.
Over the years, the brothers have made several plans to escape, all of which have failed. When Jakk was 14, One of his brothers had died from starvation. Jakk's bones were weak and he was so skinny you could see his bones. His brother was dieing, because he gave Jakk his food, so Jakk would live longer and have hopes of living. One day, Jakk and his brother were doin their usual duties when Jakk's brother fainted while rowing with the oar. Jakk tried to wake him up, pushing him, tapping him, even slapping lightly, but his brother didn't get up. The bosun came over and started flailing Jakk's brother's back. Jakk was getting angry at the bosun whipping a poor weak creature, so he jumped over his brother, grabbed the whip, and strangled the bosun with it. He then grabbed the whip and sat by his brother's side. When he turned his brother over, Jakk noticed his last brother was dead. Trieing not to cry, Jakk pushed his brother's body through the oar hole and into the sea so the corsairs wouldn't do whatever they would to him. At night, when all were asleep except several nightguards, Jakk crept up to the main deck. He appeared behind a fat stoat and he strangled him too, making sure to make as little noise as possible. Jakk then threw the body over the railing and hid somewhere not close by. When the other lookouts came over to see the commotion, Jakk escaped. He hopped over the railing and with a splash, he was off towards land. After a day, Jakk started to get weaker and his swimming slowed. Luckily, there was a holt of otters somewhere by, and there were a few out fishing. Seeing the young fox, they grabbed his body and brought him back to their holt. After several weeks, Jakk was nursed back to health, but he still had some aches and sores. In the night, Jakk left the holt, making sure to give each otter there his thanks.
When 16, Jakk started to swim. He would swim all day, and rest at night, then swim all day again. soon, his thin bones became thick and his weak muscles filled outand he started to get stronger. He then started to climb trees, hop from branch to branch, and just lounge idly in the thickest branches. Jakk then started to practice running, and his legs became long and muscular, and his breathing got better. One day after doing his excercises, Jakk heard some twigs snap. He hid in a nearby bush and waited to see who or what would come out of there. It was on old hooded creature, walking with a cane. Springheel, judging this beast as good, walked out and greeted it. The beast turned and threw down her hood to reveal a wrinkly face of an old female fox. "Oh, Jakk, you look just like your father." Jakk, being confused, asked, "Who are you?" The old fox chuckled, "I'm your grandmother." Then it hit Jakk. She did seem familiar, so of course, it was his grandmother. She knew his name and said he looked just like hios father, which was true. Jakk started to travel with his grandmother as her protector and friend. Then one day, Jakk's grandmother presented him with a gift. It was in a box and when he opened it, there was fur clothing. Jakk was taken aback. Fur? Fur only comes from another creature! His grandmother explained, "This fur belonged to the most hated creature of your grandfather, my husband. He killed his enemy and skinned him, then after many washings, I sowed it into clothing. And of course, fur boots." She said, prsenting him with boots. "These were also your grandfather's. Treat them with care." That night, Jakk went to sleep and when he woke up, his grandmother was gone. She left somewhere. Slightly saddened, Jakk packed his things then left, completely forgetting he had the fur clothing.
When Jakk was 17, he was a master of acrobatics, and he befriended many creatures. His best friend, Benjie, a mouse, gave him the nickname, "Springheel" because he could do acrobatics so well that it was like he had springs in his heel. Taking on the new nickname, Jakk only went by, "Springheel" or "Springheel Jakk". From then-on, Springheel and Benjie have been together forever. They shared the same hardships and their victories. Then, Benjie decided he wanted to visit his home in Noonvale, and Springheel was only too happy to oblige. Upon their arrival, Springheel wasn't surprised, and didn't think he'd like it at Noonvale, so he and Benjie split up, hoping to see each other one day.
Springheel has been wandering ever since.
